Why APIs Matter
APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) are the foundation of modern software integration. They allow different applications to “talk” to each other—securely, reliably, and automatically. With an API, you can connect IndyForms to other platforms, streamline repetitive tasks, and unlock new levels of customization that go far beyond what’s possible through the UI alone.
In short: if you’ve ever wished IndyForms could just do that one thing automatically or connect seamlessly to your other tools, the API is for you.
What You Can Do with the IndyForms API
With your personal Access Token (available under your Profile > Access Tokens), you can now securely query data from your IndyForms account. This first release supports read-only access, allowing you to:
- Fetch Forms you’ve created – including metadata and configuration
- Access Records submitted through your forms – great for reporting or syncing with other systems
- Retrieve info about Users connected to your account – giving you more context in your integrations
And this is just the beginning: support for write operations (like creating or updating records) is coming soon.
